Description
HIV RPR is a blood test that uses the rapid plasma reagin (RPR) method to screen for syphilis in individuals at risk for sexually transmitted infections, including HIV-positive individuals. It detects antibodies against Treponema pallidum, the bacterium that causes syphilis. Positive results require further testing for confirmation and staging of the infection.
