ASOT (Antistreptolysin O Titer) is a blood test used to diagnose streptococcal infections, particularly those caused by Group A Streptococcus bacteria. It measures the level of antibodies produced in response to streptococcal infection. Elevated ASO levels indicate recent or past infection and may help diagnose conditions like strep throat and rheumatic fever.
